A quick lesson in determining what time it is here for us. We are 18 hours ahead of most of you - this is how I do it. I subtract 6 hours from the current time, change AM to PM and vice versa, and make it tomorrow (or yesterday if I am here) and I am done.

example: it is 11:00 pm here - I subtract 6 hours (11 - 6 = 5), change pm to am (= 5:00 AM,) and make it yesterday. it is 11:00 pm on Jan. 8 for me - you will just be starting Jan 8 at 5:00 AM. In less than an hour, I will be in Jan 9! Did that help? You could also just add 18 hours to your current time...

to make it easy to visualize 6 hours, just move straight across the clock. 9->3. A trick (ok, its a simple and dumb one but easier than mental math, which is not my strength) that I learned while in europe as a kid. It hasn't been necessary since... where is my stinkin' passport?
